Founded in 2001 by filmmaker Agata De Santis, REDHEAD PRODUCTIONS is a Montreal-based production company dedicated to making independent films that inspire, educate, and entertain.


JANUARY 30, 2012. MAL’OCCHIO will have its first Ottawa screening on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 7:00PM at the Marconi Centre (1026 Baseline Road, Ottawa, K2C 0A6). The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Agata De Santis. Admission is free and open to the public. The screening is presented by the National Congress of Italian Canadians (Ottawa District) and the Dante Alighieri Society (Ottawa).

DECEMBER 9, 2011. Our first ever contest! Redhead Productions is holding a contest to find the best mal’occhio story. Over the years we’ve met folks with amazing stories about their experiences with mal’occhio. So now we want to hear from you… On the 13th day of every month in 2012 we’ll award a DVD copy of MAL’OCCHIO for the most original, intriguing story we receive. NOVEMBER 14, 2011. A big THANK YOU! to everyone who came out to see MAL’OCCHIO in Australia. A special thank you to our gracious hosts, Casa D’Italia in Sydney and the Museo Italiano in Melbourne. Our November 11 and 12 screenings are to date the most successful cultural event at the Museo, and we are very proud to be part of that success. OCTOBER 26, 2011. Before making her way to Melbourne, Australia, (see October 21st post for details) director Agata De Santis will be making a stop in Sydney! Co.As.It. Sydney will be hosting a screening of MAL'OCCHIO on Monday, November 7, 2011, at 6:30PM at the Casa D’Italia (67 Norton Street, in the suburb of Leichhardt). OCTOBER 21, 2011. MAL’OCCHIO is heading to Melbourne, Australia! The documentary will be screening at the Museo Italiano (199 Faraday Street, Carlton, VIC) on Friday, November 11 at 7:30PM, with a second screening just added on Saturday, November 12 at 3:00PM. SEPTEMBER 30, 2011. Director Agata De Santis will be in Boston, MA, October 8 and 9 for two screenings of MAL’OCCHIO. Saturday, October 8, 1:30PM to 3:00PM at the Boston Public Library North End Branch (25 Parmenter Street). Then Sunday, October 9, 3:00PM to 5:00PM at Zumix Firehouse (260 Sumner Street). Sunday's screening is hosted by Italia Unita, www.italiaunita.org. Both screenings will be followed by a Q&A with Agata.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2011. Director Agata De Santis will be at E. Rossi & Company, the famous souvenir shop in New York's Little Italy (193 Grand Street, corner Mulberry Street) on Saturday, September 10, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM to promote MAL’OCCHIO. Ernest Rossi, who is featured in the documentary, will be on hand to talk about the evil eye amulets sold in his shop. Agata will have DVDs of the film on hand for purchase.

AUGUST 1, 2011. MAL’OCCHIO returns to Montreal’s Italian Week (La Semaine Italienne de Montréal) for an encore screening. The documentary made its Canadian premiere at the 2010 edition of the festival. The documentary will screen on Monday, August 8, at 8:00PM, at the Casa d’Italia, located at 505 Jean-Talon est, followed by a discussion with filmmaker Agata De Santis. Admission is free. Doors open at 7:30PM.

JULY 20, 2011. MAL’OCCHIO will make its Canadian television premiere on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 7:00PM on CBC Television. The broadcast is part of a special summer series of documentary films that "bring you fresh and surprising perspectives on life in Quebec." The series is presented by CBC Montreal. JUNE 22, 2011. WILDFLOWERS/LES FLEURS SAUVAGES will screen at this year’s Niagara Indie Filmfest 10th Anniversary Opening Night Retrospective on Friday June 24, at 7:30PM, at the

MAY 13, 2011. A great crowd was on hand at last night's ARTE MONTREAL. Held at the newly renovated Casa D'Italia, the evening featured an art exhibit, live music by SuperNova & TheBig RedGiants, literary readings, and a screening of MAL’OCCHIO. APRIL 18, 2011. The first ever ARTE MONTREAL - dedicated to celebrating art in all its forms - will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2011, from 6:30PM to 10:00PM, at the Casa D’Italia, located at 505 Jean Talon Est, in Montreal. Organized by the Association of Italian Canadian Writers, the evening will feature an art exhibit, readings, live music by SuperNova & The Big Red Giants, and a screening of MAL’OCCHIO. Admission is free!

MARCH 1, 2011. MAL’OCCHIO’s next stop on the film festival circuit is the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. This will mark the film's Toronto premiere. MAL’OCCHIO will screen as part of the “Supernatural Shorts and Feature” program on Sunday, March 20, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Rainbow Cinemas Market Square, located at 80 Front Street. FEBRUARY 8, 2011. MAL'OCCHIO continues its film festival run with a screening at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois! The screening will be held on Sunday, February 20, at 8:00PM, at the Cinémathèque québécoise, located at 335 de Maisonneuve Est in Montreal.
