Mainfilm Great Montreal service organization for independent filmmakers that offers cheap equipment rentals, editing suites and workshops, and $5,000 grants for production and post-production.

And you can always try your luck at some government money. Grants for filmmakers are available from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Quebec Arts Council and SODEC.
