ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

The history of TRIP THE OFF began when Kristin Daniel moves to Montreal from of the tutelage of country living and the reggae inspiration of his family. Shocked by the urban conditions of poverty and street living, the poetic young man began by writing his first song “Police The Cops”, the reggae/dub inspired title track to their debut EP. Soon after, he met many great local musicians with whom he has since collaborated. His approach, using reality-based lyrics and accessible music, has opened the band up to any number of possible variations and interesting collaborations. Earlier this year, Trip The Off released its latest CD, Street Music, under its own independent label, Clark Street Records. www.myspace.com/triptheoff

Michael Di Re (Vocals-Guitar), Seb Verrillo (Guitar-Vocals), Peter De Santis (Bass), and Joey Tiano (Drums) make up DORLESION LANE, a Montreal indie rock band who play hard and perform even harder. After a few attempts at various band names, they finally settled for Dorlesion Lane just over a year ago and haven’t looked back. The band is presently recording its first demo. www.myspace.com/dorlesionlane

When they’re not behind the turntables, LES HANDCLAPS are equipped with a guitar, a Farfisa, and a laptop, to offer up a varied and festive repertoire. Holding fast to their strong 50’s and 60’s influences, they explore pop melodies and contemporary rhythms, reinvigorating this music by giving it the electronic treatment. The trio pretentiously conquers the stage forcing you to dance, to clap your hands, to sway your hips, to do the twist, to shake your head, to scream, not to give a damn, all to the soundtrack of their vocal pastiches. 1, 2, 3, 4! Allez oui! www.myspace.com/leshandclaps

25 year old Montrealer, KATIE SEVIGNY is a lady who sings from the heart. A Bluesy pop mix of melt your heart music... To watch her live is to know her best, she holds nothing back. www.myspace.com/katiesevigny

Music remains a place of mystery, back dropped by the simplicities of day-to-day life. But, in the end, if you choose to believe it, a singer singing his song is all that matters. It's out of this truism that THE BATTERY saw life. Singer/songwriter Jason Lalonde had been keeping himself rather busy, by way of his own involvement in many musical collaborations. But, secretly, he had also been writing songs to no one but himself. Songs of a quiet, yet powerful nature, where the stories are showcased prior to the melodies, vocal work, or guitar parts. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, Jason is on the cusp of introducing his solo/acoustic project with aplomb and fiery. www.myspace.com/thebatteryonline
