Agata De Santis sets out to uncover the world of the evil eye - where one can become physically ill by another's envious glances, where the only remedy is a phone call to the old woman down the street, and prevention involves wearing strange-looking amulets. Agata travels to Italy, New York, and to her mother's kitchen in Montreal to decide once and for all if the evil eye is real.

JANUARY 30, 2012. MAL’OCCHIO will have its first Ottawa screening on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 7:00PM at the Marconi Centre (1026 Baseline Road, Ottawa, K2C 0A6). The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker
Agata De Santis. Admission is free and open to the public. The screening is presented by the National Congress of Italian Canadians (Ottawa District) and the
Dante Alighieri Society (Ottawa).
