SHORT FILM “WILDFLOWERS” SELECTED FOR MONTREAL WORLD FILM FESTIVAL & TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL>>>

WILDFLOWERS, a 35mm, 14-minute surreal drama by local writer/director Geoffrey Uloth has been selected for this year’s Panorama Canada section of the Montreal World Film Festival and Perspective Canada section of the Toronto International Film Festival.

An affectionate parable of despair, love, redemption and ants, WILDFLOWERS chronicles the plight of the Old Man (Guy Crevier), a painter consumed by loneliness who means to end his life as soon as he finishes his last painting; his own memorial, to be left behind for a woman already dead. Then he is visited by the Young Girl (Jade Roy) and his day changes as quickly as the day itself changes. It gets brighter. And better.

Produced by Agata De Santis and Uloth for Evergon Arts, the film showcases the talents of some of Montreal’s most talented filmmakers and artists: Director of Photography, Yves Bélanger (LA BOUTEILLE; MUSIC HALL); editor Sophie Leblond (UN CRABE DANS LA TETE), production designer Eric Barbeau, music composer Oleksa Lozowchuk, and sound designer Jean-Sébastien Durocher (EVERGON).

WILDFLOWERS is Uloth’s second film in as many years to be accepted into the Montreal World Film Festival. Last year his film EVERGON screened in the “Next Generation Canadian Short Films” section of the festival.
