Founded in 2001 by filmmaker Agata De Santis, REDHEAD PRODUCTIONS is a Montreal-based production company dedicated to making independent films that inspire, educate, and entertain.


NOVEMBER 15, 2010. The latest music video produced by Redhead Productions is out today. THE RED GUY ALWAYS WINS by KMAN AND THE 45'S is the single off the band's debut album, due out in February of 2011. AUGUST 11, 2010. MAL’OCCHIO was a great hit at La Semaine Italienne de Montreal! What an amazing way to premiere the film in our hometown! A big thank you to the hundreds of people who came out to see MAL'OCCHIO! And a special thank you to Josie Verrillo and her festival team for hosting our premiere! JULY 20, 2010. MAL’OCCHIO is now an award winning film! The documentary film took home the "Best Foreign Feature Documentary" award at this month's Jersey Shore Film Festival. Now in its 5th year, the Festival's goal is to showcase thought-provoking films from all around the world. Kudos to Founding Director, Stevie Doueck, and his team of volunteers for their great work! JUNE 15, 2010. MAL’OCCHIO will officially begin its film festival run with its U.S. premiere at the Jersey Shore Film Festival. Screenings are scheduled for June 29 & July 12. Next stop will be the Real to Reel Film Festival in Cleveland County on July 24. And finally, the film will make its Canadian premiere at La Semaine Italienne de Montreal, with screenings scheduled for August 9 & 10 at the Leonardo da Vinci Center in St-Leonard.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2009. THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX can be viewed online! The short film by Jean-François Da Sylva is being screened as part of the NSI Online Short Film Festival. Every week the online film festival adds new titles to its showcase of international shorts. THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX is eligible for the A&E Short Filmmakers Award until December. APRIL 23, 2009. THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX has gone educational!?! Starting this month, the sci-fi short will be used as an educational tool in Professor Eliot Stein's Mathematics Course at Los Angeles Film School. There ain't no better way to learn about the mathematics of time travel then by watching a short sci-fi comedy about a grandson who comes back from the future to kill his grandfather!

DECEMBER 1, 2008. Filmmaker Agata De Santis has just about wrapped principal photography on her documentary film, MAL'OCCHIO. This year saw Agata travel to the town of Eboli in southern Italy, to New York's Little Italy, to the beautiful Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, and to her mom's and aunt's kitchens in Montreal to shoot. Post production will begin in 2009, and the documentary is slated for release in 2010.

MARCH 10, 2008. Filmmaker Agata De Santis has completed production on her first music video, for the song, NEVER QUITE EASY, by Montreal punk reggae band TRIP THE OFF. The video was filmed on location at the band's rehearsal space, The Pound. The Pound also serves as a favorite show venue for the band. Click here to watch the video. OCTOBER 15, 2007. Our favorite sci-fi comedy short, THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX, will be screening at Montreal's SPASM Festival on Thursday, November 1, 2007, at 5:00PM, at Café Cléopâtre, 1230, Saint-Laurent. JUNE 23, 2007. Congratulations to THE ECSTASY NOTE writer/director Geoffrey Uloth and his team on winning the award for "Best Independent Comedy" at this year's Niagara Indie Filmfest! Geoffrey's previous film, WILDFLOWERS/LES FLEURS SAUVAGES, was also a winner at the 2005 edition of the same festival. FEBRUARY 21, 2007. Once again, audiences are praising THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX! The sci-fi comedy short came home from the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival with not one, but two awards: "Audience Award for Best Short Film" and "Best Artistic Vision". JANUARY 29, 2007. Tune in to CBC Television's Canadian Reflections this coming Sunday, February 4 at midnight, for the national television premiere of Geoffrey Uloth's THE ECSTASY NOTE. Now in its third decade on the air, Canadian Reflections continues to highlight the first documentaries, dramas, animations and experimental films from up and coming Canadian directors, producers and writers.

OCTOBER 17, 2006. Kudos to Jean-François Da Sylva and his team on another film festival win! THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX won the "Best Sci-Fi Short" award at the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival, which wrapped up this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona. THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX is enjoying a successful film festival run, with screenings at various sci-fi festivals and events.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2006. THE ECSTASY NOTE is hitting the road, with stops at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival. The Toronto screenings are scheduled for September 14, 8:30 PM @ Cumberland 3 and September 16, 9:30 AM @ the Royal Ontario Museum. The Vancouver screenings are scheduled for October 6, 9:30PM and October 11, 3:30PM @ the Pacific Cinematheque.

JULY 3, 2006. THE ECSTASY NOTE by Geoffrey Uloth & THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX by Jean-François Da Sylva will make their Montreal premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival on Sunday, July 23, 2:45PM @ Concordia University’s Salle J.A. De Sève. Jean-François and Geoffrey each worked on the other’s film as 1st assistant director, with Agata De Santis as producer; the films were destined to premiere in the same film program.

MAY 29, 2006. Jean-François Da Sylva's short sci-fi comedy, THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX, is now an award-winning film! Last night, the film won "Best Film Award Balticon" at the Balticon Film Festival in Baltimore, USA. Congratulations to Jean-François Da Sylva and his team!
