MONTREAL SHORT FILM "WILDFLOWERS/LES FLEURS SAUVAGES" WINS C.S.C. AWARD>>>

Evergon Arts is very proud to announce that Director of Photography Yves Bélanger has been awarded a 2004 Canadian Society of Cinematographers [C.S.C.] Award for Best Dramatic Short Cinematography for his work on Geoffrey Uloth’s short film, WILDFLOWERS/LES FLEURS SAUVAGES.

Yves has been working in the Quebec film and television industry for over 15 years. With a background in music videos and commercials, Yves began shooting feature films in 1994. Some of his credits include the feature films LA BOUTEILLE (dir. Alain Desroches) and LA CONCIEREGERIE (dir. Michel Poulette), and two seasons of the television series, MUSIC HALL.

An affectionate parable of despair, love, redemption and ants, WILDFLOWERS has been making its mark at numerous film festivals. It premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival last August, and has since been screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival, Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, and the NSI FilmExchange Canadian Film Festival, among others. The film will make its Canadian television premiere on Bravo! in June.

Produced by Agata De Santis and Geoffrey Uloth, the film showcases the talents of some of Montreal’s most talented filmmakers and artists: Yves Bélanger, C.S.C.; editor Sophie Leblond, production designer Eric Barbeau, music composer Oleksa Lozowchuk, and sound designer Jean-Sébastien Durocher. The film stars Montrealers Guy Crevier and Jade Roy.

The C.S.C. Awards were handed out this past Saturday [April 3] at the Annual C.S.C. Awards Gala in Toronto.

Congratulations Yves on a well-deserved award!
