ON THE STAGE JUNE 2009>>> Redhead Productions is very proud to present the world premiere of WHISPER, a new play by Montreal writer/director Jennifer MacEachen, at the 2009 St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival. Providing a hilarious view on the modern way to “hook up” and set in the void of the internet, Whisper follows Bride_2B as she gets her feet wet in the murky virtual waters of an online chat site, ChatWorld.com. On a mission to find the man of her dreams, Bride_2B first must learn to navigate the emotionally violent interactions par for the course inside these four walls, where we’re all anonymous and unaccountable, and cyber like rabbits. IN PRODUCTION>>> What happens when you realize that your family is part of a global superstition that is neither spoken about openly nor even referred to by name? In the documentary film, MAL’OCCHIO, filmmaker Agata De Santis sets out to uncover the world of “mal’occhio” – the evil eye – where one can become physically ill by another’s envious glances, where the only remedy is a phone call to the old woman down the street, and prevention involves wearing strange-looking amulets.
