In MAL'OCCHIO, filmmaker Agata De Santis sets out to uncover the world of the evil eye - where one can become physically ill by another's envious glances, where the only remedy is a phone call to the old woman down the street, and prevention involves wearing strange-looking amulets. Agata travels to Italy, New York, and to her mother's kitchen in Montreal to decide once and for all if the evil eye is real.

MARCH 25, 2012. A big thank you to Philippa Gunn and her team at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 for hosting the screening of MAL'OCCHIO on Thursday, March 22. It was a great honor for director Agata De Santis to screen her film at the very place her mom first set foot in Canada back in 1965. We encourage everyone to visit the museum the next time they find themselves in Halifax, Nova Scotia!
